Course overview
The Master of Professional Accounting provides a structured foundation in the concepts, regulations and professional practices that support contemporary accounting work. You will develop technical accounting knowledge alongside an understanding of the legal, economic and financial settings in which accountants operate.
The fixed curriculum covers introductory and company accounting, accounting theory, management accounting, audit, taxation, commercial and company law, economics, corporate finance, accounting information systems and professional engagement.
Individual and collaborative activities allow you to apply accounting concepts to industry-relevant projects and realistic business problems. The course is designed to satisfy the academic requirements associated with major professional accounting bodies, although graduates must meet each body’s additional requirements separately.
Completed over 1.5 years full-time or three years part-time at Parramatta City, the course may support accounting, audit, taxation, finance and business advisory careers.
