Course overview

The Master of Marketing examines how technology, changing customer behaviour and new channels are reshaping marketing strategy. You will build the analytical, creative and communication capability needed to design, implement and evaluate marketing activity across commercial, government and not-for-profit settings.

All pathways cover digital marketing, multichannel marketing, social marketing, branding, business analytics, innovation and MarketingMe professional development. Longer pathways add customer experience, marketing systems, business foundations and approved electives.

Depending on your pathway, you can complete a business internship or project subject sequence. The course’s applied focus helps you connect marketing frameworks with contemporary organisational problems and professional communication.

The course can be completed in one, 1.5 or two years full-time, depending on your qualifications and experience. Graduates may pursue roles in digital marketing, brand management, customer insights, product management, social media and public relations.

What you will study

Qualification for this award requires the successful completion of 160 credit points. Unless otherwise indicated, each subject is worth 10 credit points.

Core subjects

Group 1 - One, 1.5 and two-year pathways

All students must complete the following for 70 credit points:

Group 2 - 1.5 and two two-year pathways

Students in the 1.5 and two-year pathways must complete the following subjects for 20 credit points. Students in the one-year pathway are not required to complete these subjects.

Group 3 - Two-year pathway

Students in the two-year pathway must complete the following subjects for 30 credit points. Students in the one and 1.5-year pathways are not required to complete these subjects.

Two-year pathway (160 credit points)

Applicants must have successfully completed an undergraduate degree or higher in any discipline.

1.5-year pathway (120 credit points)
One-year pathway (80 credit points)
