Course overview

The University of Queensland’s Graduate Certificate in Business is designed for graduates and experienced professionals who want stronger business knowledge for management or professional roles. It provides postgraduate grounding in business fundamentals while allowing you to shape part of the qualification around a relevant area of interest.

You will study management communication alongside financial decision-making, business analysis and the relationship between business and society. Depending on your course selection, you may also explore advertising, human resource management, information systems, innovation and entrepreneurship, international business, business law, marketing, supply chain management or sustainability strategy and leadership. Learning experiences may include lectures, tutorials, seminars and work placements.

Delivered in person at UQ’s St Lucia campus, the course can be completed in six months of full-time study or the part-time equivalent, with entry available in Semester 1 and Semester 2. Its flexible structure combines foundational business study with professional communication and optional specialist study, and the qualification can provide a pathway to UQ’s Master of Business.
