- Duration: 6 months
- Course Type: Graduate Certificate
Translate agricultural knowledge into commercial decisions through online study in agrifood strategy, value chains, investment and marketing, with a pathway to advanced agribusiness qualifications.
Course overview
The University of Queensland’s Graduate Certificate in Agribusiness is designed for recent business, agricultural or rural science graduates and professionals seeking stronger management capabilities or a transition into agribusiness. The course connects agricultural knowledge with the commercial realities of global food and fibre industries.
You will examine how agribusinesses respond to changing markets, supply-chain pressures, sustainability, food security, globalisation and international trade. Depending on your course selection, you can explore agrifood strategy, value-chain management, investment appraisal, marketing, policy or rural leadership. Online study draws on insights from UQ academics and industry experts working with contemporary agribusiness challenges.
Delivered online, the course can be completed in half a year of full-time study or the part-time equivalent. The flexible structure allows you to combine foundational study with advanced agribusiness electives according to your background. The qualification provides a pathway to UQ’s Graduate Diploma in Agribusiness or Master of Agribusiness.
CSP Subsidised Fees Available
This program has a limited quota of Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP). The indicative CSP price is calculated based on first year fees for EFT. The actual fee may vary if there are choices in electives or majors.

Commonwealth Supported Places
The Australian Government allocates a certain number of CSPs to the universities each year, which are then distributed to students based on merit.
If you're a Commonwealth Supported Student (CSS), you'll only need to pay a portion of your tuition fees. This is known as the student contribution amount – the balance once the government subsidy is applied. This means your costs are much lower.
Limited CSP spaces are offered to students enrolled in selected postgraduate courses.
Your student contribution amount is:
- Calculated per the course you're enrolled in.
- Dependent on the study areas they relate to.
- Reviewed and adjusted each year.
Student fees shown are subject to change. Contact the university directly to confirm.
HECS-HELP loans are available to eligible CSP students to pay the student contribution amount.
