- Course Type: Master's
Extend your professional accounting expertise through advanced business study and the option of an integrated CPA pathway, developing the financial, analytical and strategic capabilities needed for contemporary accounting practice.
Course overview
Extending the core structure of the Master of Professional Accounting, UNSW's Master of Professional Accounting (Extension) combines professional accounting knowledge with greater flexibility to tailor your studies through additional electives or an integrated CPA Australia pathway. This extended structure allows you to broaden your expertise while aligning your studies with your professional interests and career goals.
Throughout the degree, you'll strengthen your ability to interpret financial information, understand corporate and regulatory responsibilities and apply accounting principles to organisational decision-making. You'll also explore how accounting intersects with economics, finance, information systems and law, developing the broader business perspective needed to respond to contemporary professional accounting challenges.
Delivered through face-to-face and blended study at UNSW's Kensington campus, the program meets the educational requirements of major professional accounting bodies. Through the combined specialisation with CPA Australia, students can complete the educational component of the CPA Program alongside their master's studies, with additional academic support from UNSW.
