Course overview

The Master of Financial Technology is designed for professionals seeking to understand and respond to technology-led change across financial services. It brings together financial knowledge and technical capabilities for those working across finance, business or technology-related environments.

Develop your understanding of FinTech business models, decentralised finance, digital payments, technology-enabled lending, RegTech, InsurTech and robo-advice. Depending on your course selections, you can also strengthen your capabilities in programming, data management, analytics, investment and ethical decision-making.

The 12-course program allows you to combine at least seven FinTech-focused courses with up to five prescribed electives. These electives provide opportunities to explore areas such as finance, analytics, data science, programming and digital technology. An Applied FinTech Project is included among the available electives, although its availability may vary by study period.

Delivered fully online and part time, the program can be completed in two years. Students study one seven-week course at a time across six annual study periods. Graduates may pursue opportunities in areas such as financial analysis, digital payments, regulatory technology, decentralised finance and financial technology consulting.

"The best things about the course were how practical and relevant it was to real FinTech trends. The course explained clearly how new technologies like AI, blockchain, and crowdfunding are changing the way businesses and people borrow money. Real examples made the ideas easy to understand. The assignments and discussions encouraged creative thinking and showed how technology can make finance more open, efficient and innovative in the future."
