Course overview

Applying analytics to the way organisations understand and manage their people, UNSW's Master of Analytics (Human Resource Analytics) develops the technical and analytical capabilities to turn workforce data into evidence for better people and organisational decisions. The program connects broad analytics expertise with specialist understanding of workforce and human resource contexts.

Combining data analysis, predictive modelling, programming and visualisation with people analytics, you'll learn to identify workforce patterns, interpret complex information and communicate findings to different stakeholders. You'll also develop the judgement to apply data-driven insights to areas such as workforce planning, employee experience and retention, helping organisations make more informed people decisions and address complex workforce challenges.

Delivered 100% online, the program combines a common analytics core with specialist study in Human Resource Analytics and Human Resource Information Systems. A choice of HR-focused electives allows you to extend your expertise across areas such as employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, change, organisational development, leadership or workforce strategy.

I never thought I could study again after a long gap and with kids. But the excellent program design, resources, halo from peers and academic staff and flexible, easy to understand study materials has enabled me to finish my masters. I learned many new skills, like programming (Python, R, Tableau), without having a single idea about it before in a very easy and effective way. The discussion forum was an interesting way for remote students to be attached to peers and exchange ideas. The program has added great value to my skills and profile, and opened the door to many opportunities I can choose from.
