What you will study

To earn the Master of International Business, students must complete 192 credit points. Each course is worth 12 credit points.

Entry requirements

Two-year duration

  • Applicants must have an Australian bachelor's degree (or equivalent), or higher-level qualification, in any discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.

1.5-year duration (with advanced standing)

Applicants must have one of the following:

  • An Australian bachelor's degree (or equivalent), or higher-level qualification, in a business or related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • An Australian bachelor's degree (or equivalent), or higher-level qualification, from a recognised tertiary institution in any discipline, plus a minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
  • RMIT's Graduate Certificate in International Business.

Notes:

  • You do not need to make a separate application for advanced standing (1.5-year duration). RMIT will assess your eligibility for advanced standing as part of your program application. However, if you would also like to be assessed for Recognition of Prior Learning, you must submit a detailed CV with your application. All assessments are made on a case-by-case basis.
  • Suppose your qualification was completed more than 10 years ago. In that case, you will need to provide evidence of ongoing professional work and/or professional development in the same discipline as the program for which you are seeking entry.

Learning outcomes

Graduates of the Master of International Business will have developed core competencies in research, operational leadership, cross-cultural competency, analytical and technical competency, problem-solving and effective communication. They will also gain the skills required to analyse trends, apply theories and emerging technologies in practice, evaluate business models and critically reflect on the ethical, legal, economic and environmental implications of contemporary business practices. As part of the program, students will plan, execute and evaluate research projects to deliver innovative strategies and technology-enhanced solutions to industry challenges.

This program will also equip graduates with the high-level communication skills required to present advanced business concepts and strategies to diverse stakeholders and engage meaningfully with their feedback.
