What you will study
You must complete 192 credit points as follows:
- Four core courses (48 credit points).
- One capstone course (12 credit points).
- Three courses (36 credit points) from any major/minor, professional placement optional course list or university postgrad elective.
- Eight courses (96 credit points) from one of the options below:
- Option 1: One major.
- Option 2: Two minors.
- Option 3: One minor and any four courses from the majors/minors.
Each course is valued at 12 credit points unless otherwise stated.
Complete the following four courses (48 credit points):
- Information Systems for Business
- Future of Work
- Social Impact and Responsible Business
- Business Research Design
AND
- Option 1: Complete four courses (48 credit points) from one (1) Major.
- Option 2: Complete four courses (48 credit points) from one (1) Minor.
- Option 3: Complete four courses (48 credit points) from a Minor.
Entry requirements
Two-year duration
- Applicants must have an Australian bachelor's degree (or equivalent), or higher-level qualification, in any discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.
1.5-year duration (with advanced standing)
Applicants must have one of the following:
- An Australian bachelor's degree (or equivalent), or higher-level qualification, in a business or related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.
- An Australian bachelor's degree (or equivalent), or higher-level qualification, from a recognised tertiary institution in any discipline, plus a minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
- RMIT's Graduate Certificate in Commerce.
Notes:
- You do not need to make a separate application for advanced standing (1.5-year duration). RMIT will assess your eligibility for advanced standing as part of your course application. However, if you would also like to be assessed for Recognition of Prior Learning, you must submit a detailed CV with your application. All assessments are made on a case-by-case basis.
- Suppose your qualification was completed more than 10 years ago. In that case, you must provide evidence of ongoing professional work and/or professional development in the same discipline as the program for which you seek entry.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Applicants with a bachelor degree (honours), graduate certificate, graduate diploma or masters qualification majoring in a different discipline may also be eligible for credit transfer of up to 48 credit points (equivalent to one semester full time study).

Fees and FEE-HELP
Indicative annual fee in 2026: $35,520 (domestic full-fee paying place)
Additional expenses:
- Student services and amenities fee (SSAF): $365 maximum fee for 2026.
- Other items related to your program include field trips, textbooks and equipment.
The amounts quoted are indicative fees per annum and are based on a standard year of full-time study (96 credit points). A proportionate fee applies for more or less than the full-time study load. Fees are adjusted on an annual basis. These fees should only be used as a guide.
