What you will study
To complete the Graduate Certificate in Foundation of Artificial Intelligence, students are required to fulfil four core courses.

Entry requirements
Academic requirements
You must have one of the following:
- Successful completion of an Australian Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in computing, science, engineering, health or statistics.
- You may also be considered if you have an Australian Bachelor's degree or equivalent in another discipline and relevant completed higher education courses in programming and statistics, or a minimum of three years of current, relevant work experience or professional practice in programming and statistics or equivalent. These applications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
International qualifications are assessed for parity with Australian qualifications according to the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
Suppose your qualification was completed more than ten years ago. In that case, you must provide evidence of ongoing professional work and/or professional development in the same discipline as the program for which you seek entry to be granted credit.
English language requirements
You must meet the University's minimum English language requirements to be eligible for a place in this program.

You will have achieved the following program learning outcomes upon completing this graduate certificate.
- Demonstrate familiarity with a body of knowledge that includes recent developments in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science and Information Technology.
- Use fundamental and applied Artificial Intelligence knowledge, methodologies and modern computational tools.
- Recognise some principles and methods applicable to Artificial Intelligence.
- Analyse and model requirements and constraints to design and implement software artefacts and IT systems.
- Evaluate and compare software artefacts and IT system designs based on organisational and user requirements.
- Based on analysis, modelling, or requirements specification, design and implement software solutions that accommodate specified requirements and constraints.
- Interpret propositions, justify conclusions and defend professional decisions to IT and non-IT personnel via technical reports of professional standards and technical presentations.
- Effectively apply relevant standards, ethical considerations and an understanding of legal and privacy issues to designing Artificial Intelligence software, applications and IT systems.

- Locate and use data and information and evaluate its quality with respect to its authority and relevance.

Indicative total fee in 2026: $18,720 (domestic full-fee paying place)
Additional expenses:
- Student services and amenities fee (SSAF): $365 maximum fee for 2026.
- Other items related to your program include field trips, textbooks and equipment.
The amounts quoted are indicative fees per annum and are based on a standard year of full-time study (96 credit points). A proportionate fee applies for more or less than the full-time study load. Fees are adjusted on an annual basis. These fees should only be used as a guide.
