The Graduate Certificate of Cyber Security Governance and Risk Management, developed in collaboration with RMIT’s Cyber Security Research and Innovation Centre, will equip you with the skills to develop and advise on cyber security risk and governance strategies.

You’ll design and apply governance, compliance and resilience frameworks, learn how to respond to incidents, and manage security governance teams, processes and projects. You’ll also gain the capabilities to interface with technical cyber teams across all levels of an organisation’s hierarchy.

What you will study

To complete the Online Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security Governance and Risk Management, students are required to fulfil these four core courses:

Core courses

  • Fundamentals of Cyber Security
  • Cyber Security Governance, Risk and Compliance Management
  • Cyber Security Resilience and Incident Management

Electives

Complete one of the following courses:

  • Cyber Security Strategy Project
  • Data and Privacy in the Digital Age
  • Digital Leadership and Digital Delivery with Agile
  • Law and Policy for Emerging Technologies

Entry requirements

Applicants must have an Australian bachelor's degree or equivalent or higher-level qualification from a recognised tertiary institution and two years of relevant work experience.

Suppose you do not have these academic qualifications. In that case, you may be eligible for entrance into this program if you have at least five years of continuous full-time experience working in business, information systems, or cybersecurity. These applicants will be required to submit a curriculum vitae (CV).

Upon completion of this qualification, graduates will have robust skills in Cyber and Information Security Fundamentals, including governance, risk, legislative, and compliance requirements.

Indicative tuition fee per course in 2025: $3,720 (domestic full-fee paying place)

Indicative tuition fee for four courses in 2025: $14,880 (domestic full-fee paying place)
