The Graduate Certificate in Business Analysis is designed for professionals who have a background working in IT and wish to upskill in business analysis. If you are transitioning from a non-IT background, the Graduate Diploma in Information Technology (Business Analysis) will equip you with foundational IT skills, as well as opening a pathway for you to specialise in business analysis.

What you will study
Students need to complete a total of four units (48 credit points), comprising:
- Two core standard units
- Two elective standard units

Elective standard units
Students must complete two units from the following:
- Foundations of Decision Science
- Enterprise Systems Lifecycle Management
- Data Analytics for Strategic Decision-Makers
Entry requirements
You can gain entry into the Graduate Certificate in Business Analysis with the following:
- A completed bachelor's degree (or higher qualification) in information technology or a related discipline; OR
- A completed bachelor's degree (or higher qualification) in any discipline and three years of full-time (or equivalent) professional work experience in an IT-related field; OR
- A completed diploma (or higher qualification) in information technology or a related discipline and two years full-time (or equivalent) professional work experience in an IT-related field; OR
- Five years of full-time (or equivalent) professional work experience in an IT-related field.

Fees and CSP

Course fees can change depending on the units you select and any credits you receive for previous academic experience. Please note that fees are reviewed by QUT annually, which can impact the overall course fees.
Commonwealth Supported Places
When you enrol in a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP), the Australian Government covers a significant portion of your course fees, which you do not need to repay, saving you thousands of dollars.
You pay the remaining amount, known as the Student Contribution, which you can finance through a HECS-HELP loan.
A limited number of CSPs are available for this qualification.
Your student contribution amount is:
- Calculated per unit you're enrolled in.
- Dependent on the study areas they relate to.
- Reviewed and adjusted each year.
HECS-HELP loans are available to CSP students to pay the student contribution amount.
