Course overview
In the Master of Professional Accounting and Business Law double degree, you have the opportunity to focus on specific fields of accounting practice, including accounting information systems, financial accounting, forensic accounting, auditing and management accounting, alongside study of the legal environment and its impact on business practice in corporate governance, financial regulation, Asian and international business, human resources and workplace relations, marketing and taxation.
The course is designed for non-law and non-accounting graduates and for those who need specialist legal knowledge in their roles, such as those in regulatory, compliance or risk-management positions, who want to combine this knowledge with an advanced accounting qualification.

What you will study
To complete the Master of Professional Accounting and Business Law, students must fulfil 20 units (120 credit points), consisting of advanced preparatory units (24 credit points) and mastery knowledge units (96 credit points).

Entry requirements
An Australian bachelor degree or equivalent qualification with at least a credit (60 per cent) average or an equivalent grade point average (GPA).
Applicants who have completed relevant discipline units* in an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) may be eligible for credit for advanced preparatory units on the basis of recognised prior learning (RPL).
*Relevant discipline units include: Finance, Commerce, Business, Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Accounting, Humanities, Arts, Science, Social Science and Law.
English language requirements
For entry to Monash University, you must meet the minimum English language requirements. You can do this by completing one of the qualifications listed on their website.

Average 2025 first-year fee: $37,100 (domestic full-fee paying place)
All costs are calculated using current rates and are based on a study load of 24 credit points (normally four units) per semester or 48 credit points (normally eight units) per year.
