What you will study
To complete the Master of Applied Marketing, you must fulfil 12 units (72 credit points). It consists of Part A. Master knowledge eight units (48 credit points) and Part B. Electives 4 units (24 credit points).
Part A. Master Knowledge
Core units (30 credit points)
Complete the following units:
- Driving Organisational value through Marketing (six credit points)
- Using Marketing Analytics for Better Decision-making (six credit points)
- Shaping Ethical Marketplaces (six credit points)
- Marketing Strategy Masterclass (six credit points)
Additional Master Knowledge units
Complete three of the following units (18 credit points).
- Major Project (12 credit points)
- Establishing and Building Strong Brands (six credit points)
- Managing Business Networks (six credit points)
- Advanced Business Research Methods (six credit points)
- Contemporary Issues in Marketing (six credit points)
- Social Media Marketing (six credit points)
- Managing Distribution Channels (six credit points)
- Customer-focused Innovation (six credit points)
- Global Study Programs in Marketing (six credit points)
Part B. Electives
You must complete 24 credit points of electives at either Level 4 or 5 from the Faculty of Business and Economics, which could include study tours, consulting projects or industry placements. In addition, you may choose units that were not completed in Part A, or from across the University as long as you have met the prerequisites and there are no restrictions on enrolling in the units.
Entry requirements
Entry level 1: 72 points to complete
Duration: 1.5 years full-time, 3 years part-time
Applicants must have one of the following:
- An Australian bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a major or minor** in marketing with at least a high credit (65%) average or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA).
- An Australian bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and at least two years of relevant professional experience*.
Entry level 2: 48 points to complete
Duration: One years full-time, two years part-time
Applicants must have one of the following:
- An Australian bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a major or minor* in marketing with at least a high credit (65%) average or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA) and an Australian graduate certificate / honours degree (or equivalent) in marketing.
- An Australian bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a major or minor** in marketing and two years of relevant professional experience*.
*Applicants applying based on work experience are required to provide a detailed curriculum vitae outlining their employment history and professional experience.
**A minor is at least four units (equivalent to 24 Monash credit points).
English language requirements
For entry to Monash University, you must meet the minimum English language requirements. You can do this by completing one of the qualifications listed on their website.
If you've completed several measures of English proficiency over a period of time, the highest valid measure will be accepted as long as it's been taken within the required time limitations.

Fees and FEE-HELP
Average 2025 first-year fee: $37,100 (domestic full-fee paying place)
All costs are calculated using current rates and are based on a study load of 24 credit points (normally four units) per semester or 48 credit points (normally eight units) per year.
A student’s annual fee may vary in accordance with:
- The number of units studied per term.
- The choice of major or specialisation.
- Choice of units.
- Credit from previous study or work experience.
- Eligibility for government-funded loans.
