Graduate Diploma in Business Administration

What you will study

To complete the Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, students will have to fulfil Leadership and Business Essentials and then choose from a number of core subjects. 112.5 credit points (CP) are required to complete the program. Each subject is valued at 12.5 credit points, unless otherwise indicated.

Entry requirements

To be considered for entry into this course, you must have:

• An undergraduate degree and at least two (2) years of documented full-time professional work experience, OR
• A minimum of six (6) years of documented full-time professional experience.

You must submit:

• An up-to-date curriculum vitae (CV).
• Evidence of all qualifications completed and incomplete, including academic transcripts with grading schema.
• A valid passport or verified document showing current citizenship/residency status.
• The names and contact details of two professional referees.

Please note: This course is only open to domestic students (Australian/NZ citizens, Australian PR visa holders, or any Australian visas without study restrictions).

English language requirements

All applicants to the University of Melbourne must satisfy the English language requirements. This may be achieved in a number of ways, including a recognised previous study taught and assessed entirely in English or an approved English language test. If you need to undertake an English language test, you must meet one of the scores below:

• IELTS (Academic English only): Overall score of 7.0 (with no individual band less than 6.5)
• TOEFL Internet-based test: Overall score of 91 (with writing 23, speaking 22, reading 19, listening 19)
• Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): Overall score of 72 (with writing 65; speaking 66; reading 64; listening 64)
• Cambridge C1 Advanced: Overall score of 178 (with writing 180; speaking 187; reading 168; listening 168)
• LanguageCert Academic: Overall score of 73 (with writing 71; speaking 76; reading 65; listening 62)
• Michigan English Test (MET): Overall score of 62 (with writing 64; speaking 53; reading 59; listening 59)

Recognition of Prior Learning

Your previous studies can be acknowledged as credit towards your postgraduate studies, provided that they meet the relevant course requirements.

If you receive an offer of enrolment and you’ve undertaken prior learning, you may be eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning. The procedure is governed by the university's Recognition of Prior Learning policy. Contact the university for more details.

Fees and FEE-HELP

Program fee per subject in 2026: $5,308 (domestic full-fee paying place)

Student fees may vary in accordance with:

• The number of subjects studied per term.

• Credit from previous study or work experience.
• Eligibility for government-funded loans.

You may also need to pay the student services and amenities fee.
