The Graduate Certificate in Applied Business Analytics introduces the analytical skills needed to make informed business decisions. It is suited to professionals who want to work more confidently with data without committing immediately to a longer postgraduate qualification.

Students select four subjects from areas including data analytics foundations, business decision-making, data visualisation, artificial intelligence and ethics, data platforms and programming. This choice allows students to focus on the capabilities most relevant to their work and existing experience.

Each subject is completed over seven weeks, with students concentrating on one subject at a time. The course can be completed fully online, with optional on-campus tutorials available for students who prefer additional face-to-face learning.

Entry requirements

In order to be considered for entry, applicants must have:

  • Completed an undergraduate degree of 3 or 4 years
  • Two years of documented full-time professional work experience
  • An excellent command of English, with a copy of your IELTS or TOEFL score if you are a non-native speaker

English requirements

  • IELTS: Academic English test with a minimum score of 7.0 overall and with no individual band less than 7.0.
  • TOEFL iBT, with a minimum score of 94 (written score minimum 27 and no individual score lower than 24) 
  • PTE: Overall score minimum of 72+, with writing skills of minimum 75 and no other communicative skill below 72

Recognition of Prior Learning

Prior studies may be credited towards your degree and potentially reduce the duration of your course. This is known as Advanced Standing (also known as credit or recognition of prior learning). Contact the university for more information.
