The Master of Creative Industries and Master of Management combines creative expertise with management skills to prepare you for leadership roles in creative sectors.

Course overview

In the Master of Creative Industries, you’ll develop an understanding of a range of approaches to contemporary production, distribution and audience engagement in the creative industries. You’ll advance your knowledge of creative media project design, aesthetics and management. And you’ll have access to professional-quality studios for screen production, performance, music recording and radio production; industry-standard digital workstations; a specially equipped theatre for screenings; and digital production tools.

The Master of Management – developed specifically for recent graduates and early career professionals – will provide you with deep experiential learning within contemporary business settings, and will give you opportunities to practically apply your learning to real and current corporate challenges.

What you will study

To complete the Master of Creative Industries and Master of Management, you must complete 160 credit points (CP). It consists of 80 CP for the Master of Creative Industries and 80 CP for the Master of Management.

Master of Creative Industries

Essential units (40 CP)

Entry requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Creative Industries and Master of Management, a student must fulfil one of the admission points below for both single degrees:

Master of Creative Industries

  • An AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification in a related field or recognised equivalent.
  • An AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification or recognised equivalent, and two years of relevant, approved work experience, professional certification or other recognised prior learning.

Master of Management

  • An AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification in a related field or recognised equivalent.
  • An AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification or recognised equivalent, and two years of relevant, approved work experience, professional certification or other recognised prior learning.

Note: Successful admission into the double degree means that you must satisfy the requirements for both of the single degrees.

English language requirements

When applying to study at Macquarie University, you’re required to provide evidence of proficiency in English.

The required standard of English for this degree is outlined here: IELTS - Writing 6.0, Speaking 6.0, Reading 6.0, Listening 6.0 and an overall score of 6.5.

You may satisfy the English language requirements by having one of the following:
