Connect accounting, economics, marketing and people management to examine business decisions from multiple perspectives, with practical learning focused on organisational performance, customer value and ethical leadership.
Course overview
The Graduate Certificate of Business Administration at Macquarie University brings together four disciplines central to business management: accounting, economics, marketing and the management of people. Its subjects examine how organisations make decisions, respond to their operating environment and work towards business objectives.
Accounting content explores financial information, accountability and corporate governance, while managerial economics places organisational decisions in their wider economic context. Marketing addresses customer behaviour, products, pricing and communication. People management examines individual, group and organisational performance, with an emphasis on ethical and inclusive approaches.
Learning connects these concepts with practical business analysis. Marketing assessments, for example, include analysing a company’s situation, proposing a new offering and preparing a marketing strategy and tactical plan. Across the subject areas, the focus is on applying knowledge to decisions involving customers, resources and people, giving you a broader basis for examining business challenges.
