Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Engineering Project Management, a student must hold:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent three-year or four-year Engineering undergraduate degree from a recognised university (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.0 on a 7-point scale or a Bachelor honours degree in Engineering or equivalent four-year Engineering undergraduate degree from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) or a Graduate Certificate in Engineering Project Management.

Students admitted to the program with a Bachelor Honours degree in Engineering or an equivalent four-year Engineering undergraduate degree or a Graduate Certificate in Engineering Project Management will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing towards the program.

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Engineering Project Management, you must have one of:

Pathway 1 - 1 year program (80 credit points):

  • A recognised four-year bachelor Honours degree in Engineering with a minimum grade point average of 4.0 using a 7.0 scale.
  • A recognised bachelor's degree (or higher) in a *related discipline with a minimum grade point average of 4.0 using a 7.0 scale AND a minimum of 2 years full-time (or equivalent) relevant professional experience.

Pathway 2 - 1.5 year program (120 Credit points):

  • a recognised Bachelor's degree (or higher) in *related discipline with a minimum grade point average of 4.0 using a 7.0 scale.
  • a combination of alternative admission criteria such as formal, informal and non-formal learning deemed to be equivalent to the above.

Related Discipline: Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Building, Natural and Physical Sciences, Environment, Mathematics.

Professional Experience: 2 years of full-time (or equivalent) work experience in Project Management, Engineering, and Construction.

A higher qualification refers to a qualification at a higher level than a Bachelor qualification, which includes any of the following: a Bachelor Honours Degree; Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Masters Degree, MPhil or PhD.

Our graduates have gone on to successful careers in a variety of industry sectors, including built environment, civil infrastructure, oil and gas, mining, energy and facility and asset management services. Some of the roles they have gone into are project engineer, project manager, contracting manager and team leader.

Commonwealth Supported Places

The Australian Government allocates a certain number of CSPs to the universities each year, which are then distributed to students based on merit.

If you're a Commonwealth Supported Student (CSS), you'll only need to pay a portion of your tuition fees. This is known as the student contribution amount – the balance once the government subsidy is applied. This means your costs are much lower.

Limited CSP spaces are offered to students enrolled in selected postgraduate courses.

Your student contribution amount is:

  • Calculated per courses you're enrolled in.
  • Dependent on the study areas they relate to.
  • Reviewed and adjusted each year.

HECS-HELP loans are available to CSP students to pay the student contribution amount.

FEE-HELP loans are available to assist eligible full-fee paying domestic students with the cost of a university course.
