Course overview
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) Accelerated is an advanced general management degree designed for managers who wish to develop a solid business foundation, as well as skills and knowledge of cutting-edge business practices for the 21st century.
Griffith offers two MBA programs, both are focused around our values of responsible leadership, sustainable business practices and a global perspective with the aim of making you an effective globally responsible business leader. The accelerated program is online only. It has twelve set courses and each course is delivered over a 6-week period.
In this program, you will study courses in sustainability, accounting and reporting, finance, people management, strategy and innovation, and managing change through responsible leadership. You will be equipped with an understanding of the key functional areas within a business and the challenges facing businesses.

What you will study
The accelerated program has twelve set courses and no electives. Courses in this program will be offered over six teaching periods per year. Each teaching period will be delivered across six weeks. Students will complete one course per teaching period. Each course is valued at 10 credit points (CP).
There are two programs of study available. Your eligibility for a particular option depends on your previous qualifications and relevant work experience.

Entry requirements
Academic requirements
To be eligible for admission to the MBA, an applicant must have one of the following:
- Any bachelor's degree (or higher) from a recognised university (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.5 (using a 7.0 point scale); and have a minimum of three years of equivalent full-time work experience post-degree which includes two years of relevant work experience and one year in a role demonstrating leadership experience.
- A Griffith Graduate Certificate in Business Administration (or an equivalent qualification) with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.5. Students with a Griffith Graduate Certificate in Business Administration will receive 40 CP of credit.
- A Griffith Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Management (or an equivalent qualification) with a minimum GPA of 4.5. Students with a Griffith Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Management will receive 40 CP of credit.
Leadership can include direct supervisory experience and/or change management in an organisational or project-specific setting.
If you do not meet the required Grade Point Average (GPA) for direct admission, you may submit the result of the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). The minimum requirement for GMAT is an overall score of 550.
Evidence of work experience must include a detailed work history (roles, responsibilities and achievements).
Upon request, applicants may be asked to provide an Applicant Statement of Leadership Experience (maximum 750 words). To demonstrate relevance of work experience, applicants will need to provide a statement detailing examples of applied leadership skills and how their experiences will be complemented by the MBA along with a sound knowledge of the Griffith Business School values.
English language requirements
English language requirements apply to international applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to this program are as follows:
- A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0.
- A minimum score of 575 on TOEFL.
- An internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 79 (no sub-score less than 19).
- No score less than 3+ in each skill of the ISLPR (conducted by ISLPR Language Services only).
- A minimum overall score of 176 (no score less than 169) on C1 Advanced (formerly Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English) or C2 Proficiency (formerly Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English).
- An overall score of 58 in the Pearson Test of English (Academic) with no score less than 50.
English test results must be no more than two years old.
If you do not meet the university's specified English language requirements, you may wish to contact the Griffith English Language Institute to increase your eligibility for entering a Griffith University program. This institute offers a number of English language and other courses at both its Brisbane and Gold Coast branches.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Griffith University grants credit and recognition of prior learning which may relate to prior formal learning or prior informal and non-formal learning. The university's Credit Precedent Database allows you to find out what credit decisions have been made in the past. These precedents will give you an idea of what you can expect.
Students who have successfully completed the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.5 can articulate into the MBA with 40 CP of specified credit. Contact the university for more information.

Fees and FEE-HELP
Indicative annual fee in 2025: $45,000 (domestic full-fee paying place)
The indicative annual tuition fee is calculated based on a standard full-time study load which is usually 80 CP.
