Master of Technology
- Delivery: Face to Face
- Study Level: Postgraduate
- Duration: 24 months
- Course Type: Master's
Engineering skills are in demand across a wide range of industries. This postgraduate qualification enables graduates from non-engineering disciplines to transition into the field, preparing them for engineering technologist roles and providing a pathway to further study through the Master of Engineering.
Course overview
This coursework degree offers a postgraduate pathway to an engineering qualification at the technologist grade for applicants with a non-engineering or non-technology first degree who wish to transition to an engineering career path.
Graduates of this course will be able to seek engineering technologist roles in industry, or will be able to upgrade to an accredited professional engineering qualification by articulating into the Master of Engineering.
You can tailor your studies to your interests and career goals by choosing a specialisation in Chemical, Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Chemical Engineering focuses on industrial processes and the transformation of materials, while Civil Engineering develops expertise in areas such as structural design, geotechnical engineering and fluid systems. Electrical Engineering explores the design, operation and maintenance of electrical and electronic systems, with opportunities to study areas such as power systems, renewable energy, automation, communications and computer systems. Mechanical Engineering focuses on the design, manufacture and maintenance of mechanical components and moving systems, drawing on areas such as mechanics, thermodynamics and advanced manufacturing.
Each specialisation provides a foundation for engineering technologist roles and can also support progression to the accredited Master of Engineering in the corresponding discipline.
