Course overview

The Graduate Diploma of Human Resource Management forms the second stage in a three-stage suite of postgraduate Human Resource Management courses.

These courses include the Graduate Certificate of Human Resource Management and the Master of Human Resource Management. The Graduate Diploma builds on the knowledge and skills gained in the Graduate Certificate and develops higher-level HRM capabilities and broader business understanding. This course focuses on the roles of HRM professionals in aligning HRM policies and practices with the organisation's strategic priorities and in managing strategic change. The Graduate Diploma also develops students' understanding of the work of line managers who play a key role in executing the HRM function by converting HRM policy to practice.

What you will study

To complete the Graduate Diploma of Human Resource Management, you must complete 120 credit points. Each unit is valued at 20 credit points.

Entry requirements

Academic requirements

Academic admission requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Equivalent prior learning, including at least five years of relevant professional experience.

Alternatively, applicants may apply for a graduate certificate in human resource management.

English language requirements

English competency requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • IELTS academic overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0).
  • Bachelor's degree from a country specified on the university's English Proficiency Bands page.
  • I completed 0.375 EFTSL of study at the postgraduate level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent).
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Other tests, courses or programs defined on the university's English Proficiency Bands page.
