Course overview

The course focuses on machine learning and emphasises the skills sought by the industry, such as neural network design and implementation, while continually reinforcing the fundamental knowledge that underpins AI.  You will undertake assessments and tasks using the latest deep-learning models and tools, ensuring your learning is practical and stimulating. There are opportunities to complete assessments based on solving an AI challenge for your organisation.  You'll also develop ethical, responsible and explainable AI solutions that align with current government standards, qualifying you to be part of a national effort to deliver safe, secure and reliable AI.

Entry requirements

A three-year recognised bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computational Science or Engineering with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience or a four-year degree in Information Technology or Computational Science or Engineering.

Indicative 2025 first-year fee: $33,798 (domestic full-fee paying place).

All costs are calculated using current rates and are based on a study load of 100 credit points (normally four units) per semester or 200 credit points (normally eight units) per year.
